The inspiration for this concept was the ballet Swan Lake, where the dancers are physically transforming into swans. For this piece, I wanted the dancers to represent what happens to swans and geese within the down industry. They have their feathers ripped off violently revealing their exposed flesh. When geese can no longer produce feathers they are sold to the foie gras ( fattened duck liver) industry. Leave swans and geese alone by purchasing synthetic down and lving vegan.
